The Master of Arts in Applied Arts and Design (MAAAD) is a diploma program specially offered by the College of Design of Shu-Te University (STU), a leading design school in southern Taiwan. This program is to be hosted by the College of Communication, Art and Design (CCAD) of the University of the Philippines Cebu.
MAAAD is a 36-unit program that can be finished in four semesters. The core courses will be handled by professors from STU, while the elective courses will be taught by a collaboration of faculty from both STU and UP Cebu.
The program culminates with the students travelling to STU in Kaohsiung, Taiwan for the thesis defense and the commencement exercises where the students receive their graduate diploma.
The hosting of the MAAAD program by CCAD is a reaffirmation of its role in the continuing growth of Cebu’s creative and design industry. The collaboration between the two institutions is expected to bring together two academic cultures who are working for excellence in art and design.
