Joya Awards is now accepting submissions as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.<br><br>The Jose T. Joya Awards is an annual art competition named after Filipino National Artist and pioneer of abstract art Jose T. Joya.<br><br>The Fine Arts program describes the awards as \u201chonoring a legacy of imagination, experimentation, and artistic excellence carried forward by generations of artists.\u201d<br><br>Joya helped build the Fine Arts program at UP Cebu in 1975 and launched the painting competition in 1977 to support young local talents.<br><br>The competition is open to students enrolled in the UP Cebu Fine Arts program. Expert judges will review student submissions and select the top winners.<br><br>Registration is open until <strong>October 16, 2026<\/strong>.
