{"id":3082,"date":"2026-09-15T22:55:05","date_gmt":"2026-09-15T22:55:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ccad.upcebu.edu.ph\/?p=3082"},"modified":"2026-09-15T22:55:07","modified_gmt":"2026-09-15T22:55:07","slug":"1081-exhibit-opens-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ccad.upcebu.edu.ph\/index.php\/2026\/09\/15\/1081-exhibit-opens-today\/","title":{"rendered":"1081 Exhibit Opens Today"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Photo courtesy: 1081 Exhibit<br><\/strong><br>The annual exhibit of the Communicators of UP, which seeks to remember the atrocities committed during the Martial Law regime, opens today at the Performing Arts Hall.<br><br>Called 1081, after the proclamation number that placed the country under Martial Law, the exhibit also seeks to honor the memory of its victims by creating spaces for their stories to be told and heard.<br><br>\u201cIt exists to be a stronghold against this pervasive historical revisionism. An initiative organized by students, it aims to preserve the truth, commemorate victims, and honor the sacrifices of the Filipinos long before us who took a stand against this oppressive regime,\u201d the organization wrote in its concept paper.<br><br>\u201cMartial Law was never a &#8216;golden age&#8217;\u2014it was a dark era,\u201d it also added.<br><br>This year\u2019s theme, \u201cAng Kamatuoran Taliwala sa Kangitngit,\u201d features multimedia art, performances, and other forms of creative expression.<br><br>Labor activist and development worker Jhonggie Ramirez Rumol is set to speak during today\u2019s opening.<br><br>A Lightning Rally Protest Action from the PAH to the UG Lobby will also take place, followed by a walkthrough of the exhibit at the Jose T.
