{"id":3092,"date":"2026-09-20T13:55:54","date_gmt":"2026-09-20T13:55:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ccad.upcebu.edu.ph\/?p=3092"},"modified":"2026-09-20T13:55:56","modified_gmt":"2026-09-20T13:55:56","slug":"ma-in-creative-writing-proposal-advances-to-institutional-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ccad.upcebu.edu.ph\/index.php\/2026\/09\/20\/ma-in-creative-writing-proposal-advances-to-institutional-review\/","title":{"rendered":"MA in Creative Writing proposal advances to institutional review"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>The proponents of the proposal during its revision meeting held last September 16, 2026 <\/em><\/strong><br><br>The proposed Master of Arts in Creative Writing (MACW) program of the College of Communication, Art and Design (CCAD) is now under institutional review, bringing the college closer to offering its second graduate program.<br><br>The proposal is currently with the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs following the college\u2019s receipt of comments from the UP System Curriculum Committee.\u00a0<br>Faculty proponents worked on refining the proposal in response to the committee\u2019s comments last September 16, 2026.<br><br>CCAD\u2019s MACW is an adoption of the Master of Arts in Creative Writing program of the Department of English and Comparative Literature of the UP Diliman College of Arts and Letters.<br><br>CCAD describes MACW as \u201cthe first graduate program of its kind in Cebu,\u201d responding to the growing demand for advanced creative and critical writing in the Visayas and grounded in the region\u2019s rich literary and cultural ecosystem.<br><br>The college began developing the proposal for MACW in December 2024 through an interest and demand survey.
