Juanito Karl P. Roque Jr. is Associate Professor of Painting in the Studio Arts Program. He is a recipient of multiple National Artist Jose T. Joya Awards, among others, including the Jose and Asuncion Joya Professorial Chair. Currently one of the senior faculty in the Fine Arts Program, he has served as Chair of the UP Cebu Humanities Division and as the first Dean of the College of Communication, Art, and Design. He is a member of Arts Council of Cebu, Pusod: Open Organization of Cebu Visual Artists, Inc., Cebu Artists Incorporated, and The Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Art in Chicago. His creative interests include mixed media art, printmaking, and photography.
