Abayon, Jonessa Faye

Jonessa Faye Abayon or Nessa Abayon is a licensed Interior Designer. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the University of San Carlos in 2013, where she was honored with the Best in Thesis award. After successfully passing her board exam, Nessa gained valuable experience working with renowned firms in Manila, Heim Interiors (now Hurray Design), Grupo Santa Maria, and in Cebu with Vito Selma, honing her skills in both residential and commercial spaces.
She is the co-founder and the Creative Director of Laraw Luna Design Studio, a Cebu-based interior design studio that ventures into Residential, Commercial and Hospitality Design. Her collaborative approach with clients, suppliers, and allied professionals results in the creation of unique, engaging, and functional environments that positively contribute to their physical location and enliven the senses and surroundings of the people who experience them.
Beyond her intensive design practice, she is dedicated to creating inclusive community spaces that foster connection and creativity. In 2022, she co-founded Ahka Sari-Sari Space, a vibrant community space fostering local artists across various creative disciplines. The space hosts a wide array of events, from supporting the local indie music scene and showcasing drag shows and queer artists to facilitating community dialogues, poetry readings, drawing classes, and various creative workshops.
Currently, she is part of the College of Communication, Art and Design Faculty of the University of the Philippines Cebu, where she shares her expertise through Product Design courses. Her creative and research interests include Material Exploration, Design for Social Innovation, and Service Design.
