Assistant Professor
Gregg Lloren is Assistant Professor of Cognitive Design in the Communication Program. His work, Leith in Chronotope, was featured in the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Scotland, UK. An acclaimed international creative director, his branding video for UP Cebu, Puso 2, was awarded Best Institutional Video by the global university ranking body, Quaquarelli Symond, at the QS Maple Conference and Exhibition held in Doha, Qatar, in 2015. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Letters from San Beda University, Manila, Philippines. He completed his MSc by Research (with Merit) in Interdisciplinary Creative Practices at the University of Edinburgh, UK, where he conducted practice-led research on digital semiotics in emerging media. He is currently working on his Ph.D. Architecture at the same university. His doctoral project proposes a new approach in cognitive augmentation using spatial/confluent human-computer interaction informed by new trends in mind studies. His interests cross the arts and the sciences, ranging from linguistics, general systems theory, multimodal studies, media semiotics, cognitive science, and philosophy of the mind. Asst. Prof. Lloren is a member of the National Research Council of the Philippines and the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS).
