Januar Yap is Assistant Professor of Media Studies and Cebuano Literature in the Communication Program. He is editor and writer for SunStar Daily, four-time winner in the Cebuano fiction category of the Carlos Palanca Memorial Award for Literature, and recipient of awards in the documentary category of Sinulog Documentary and Short Film Festivals, including a Gawad Urian nomination for Best Screenplay. He is member of PEN Philippines and of Bathalan-ong Halad sa Dagang (BATHALAD), one of the premier literary organizations in the Visayas.
