Borlasa, Jeneth
Assistant Professor
Jeneth Borlasa is an Assistant Professor at the University of the Philippines Cebu, where she teaches Communication Theory, Broadcast, and Research subjects. She is a producer and writer for Above the Line Productions. She has worked on several award-winning films such as Ang Damgo ni Eleuteria (2010) and My Paranormal Romance (2011) as producer, Confessional (2007) as associate producer, and also co-produced the documentary Eskrimadors (2010). She also co-wrote the journal article “Alternative Modes of Distribution and Exhibition: Cebuano Cinema from the Perspective of Cebuano Filmmakers” (Plaridel, 2020). She is also a published creative writer and is the current chair of the Women in Literary Arts Cebu, the longest-running women writers organization in the country. Her research interests include crisis communication, the postcolonial body in literature and cinema, and Asian popular cinema. She acquired her MA in Literature from the University of San Carlos Cebu.
