Arong, Marie Rose

Associate Professor

[email protected]

Rose completed her Ph.D. at the University of New South Wales, Australia. Her academic research combines a culturally specific formalist approach and a postcolonial reading of narratives. Her articles have appeared in Publishing Research Quarterly, Plaridel, Postcolonial Studies, Journal of Graphic Novels and Comics, Kritika Kultura, and Ariel. She is the author of A Veritable Terra Incognita: Situating the Philippines in Postcolonial Literature (UST PH 2020).

Rose is available to supervise students in narrative theory, postcolonial studies, environmental humanities, medical humanities, and science and health communication.

Rose spends her downtime binge-listening to a strange brew of podcasts from crime, to design, or economics shows. Prior to caring about her visual and wrist health, she played either Diner Dash or MLB The Show Baseball, nonstop. Rose tries to add chickpeas to all her home-cooked meals. Email: [email protected]
