In line with the preparations for the upcoming Creative Work Summit, UP Faculty Regent Early Sol Gadong visited University of the Philippines Cebu on March 2 to engage in a consultation with artist-faculty of the College of Communication, Art, and Design (CCAD).
The visit provided a meaningful platform for dialogue, allowing CCAD artists, designers, creative writers, and storytellers to share their perspectives, lived realities, and pressing concerns—particularly those related to faculty welfare, wellness, and overall well-being. This consultation forms a crucial part of the groundwork for the Creative Work Summit, ensuring that the voices of UP Cebu’s creative faculty are heard, documented, and properly represented at the University level.
Conducted in coordination with the Office of the Dean, the discussion also addressed important institutional matters, including the Faculty Merit Promotion (FMP 2025), the FMP point system and instruments, and concerns related to OneUP. Through open and constructive exchange, the consultation reaffirmed the University’s commitment to inclusive policy-making and to strengthening support systems for creative and academic work.
The CCAD community extends its appreciation to Regent Gadong for the engagement and to all participating faculty members for contributing to this important conversation in advancing the welfare and recognition of creative labor within the University.
