Lawak Sinehan
Lawak Sinehan is a dedicated film space of the College of Communication, Art & Design that serves as a home for Cebuano and regional cinema. It regularly features screenings of works by local and regional filmmakers, providing a platform that amplifies diverse voices, stories, and perspectives from across the Philippines. As a space rooted in both education and cultural engagement, it supports the study and appreciation of film while nurturing a deeper connection to regional identities and creative expression.
Beyond screenings, Lawak Sinehan functions as an avenue for dialogue and critical exchange, hosting discussions, talkbacks, and curated programs that engage with contemporary and progressive cinema. It is a space where students, faculty, and the wider community come together not only to watch films, but to reflect, question, and learn, contributing to both academic enrichment and the holistic development of audiences within the CCAD community at the University of the Philippines Cebu.
