Communication Program alumna and The FREEMAN business reporter Ehda Mausisa Dagooc is the newly elected president of the Cebu Federation of Beat Journalists (CFBJ).
Dagooc was elected during the organization’s officers’ lunch and election on September 20, 2026. She succeeded DYHP’s Arnold Bustamante, who was president for more than three terms.
A graduate of the Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication program of UP Cebu in 1996, Dagooc has built an extensive career covering business and finance stories in Cebu and the region.
She also writes for The Philippine Star, where she covers regional economic trends, the hospitality sector, real estate, and business developments in Cebu and the Visayas.
Dagooc currently serves as president of the Cebu Economic Journalists Association (CEJA), a specialized professional organization composed of journalists covering business, the economy, and finance.
CEJA is one of the constituent beat organizations under the larger umbrella of the CFBJ.
CFBJ brings together journalists from various specialized beats and serves as an organization promoting professional development and collaboration among members of Cebu’s media community.
The College of Communication, Art, and Design warmly congratulates Dagooc on her new term and looks forward to possible partnerships between the federation and its current students such as providing opportunities for learning, professional engagement, and industry exposure.
Another UP Cebu alumna from the same program, Morexette Eram of Inquirer Visayas, was also elected as CFBJ secretary.
