This exhibition explores trauma and the dynamics of power, particularly how it is imposed and experienced between oppressor and victim. Drawing from a traumatic encounter with state forces, the works attempt to confront an event that resists a fixed meaning. “KOM POZilon TIKA, maunsa man Ka?”
Following a gradual transformation of mediums from paper drawings, painting, and performance-based video art, the body of work raises the question of what happens to agency as trauma shifts across forms.
Across media reflects the instability of trauma and power, using art-making as a mode of inquiry into agency through deconstruction, reframing, and reflection.
The exhibition will be held on May 9 at Galerie Inatu, Atua Midtown. Artist reception is at 5:30 PM.
