The Fine Arts Product Design Program will hold an urban walking tour in downtown Cebu city on Saturday, September 5, 2026.

It will be guided by Design Studies and Culture Expert Asst. Prof. Jay Nathan Jore.

The tour will start from Archdiocesan Shrine of San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish Church at 9:00am and will end at the Cebu Provincial Capitol by 5:00pm.

The program describes the tour as an immersion in “Cebu City’s urbanity, architecture, public spaces, local food, everyday life, and cultural heritage”.

It aims to explore how Cebu city has been shaped by people, place, history, culture, and design.

“Not simply as a city we move through, but as a living environment we can experience, read, question, and understand through design,” added the program in a statement.

Participants will walk through the city and discover the relationships between its historic and contemporary environments.

They will also observe the rhythms of everyday urban life, experience local culinary culture, and learn to read Cebu through the lens of design and culture.

Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and light clothing; bring drinking water, sun/rain protection; and documentation materials such as a camera or phone.

A minimal fee of P150 will be collected for UP Students and Personnel while P250 for Non-UP Participants.
