CCAD formally strengthened its commitment to innovation and industry engagement through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with MyFashionTech on June 1, 2026, at the Office of the Chancellor, UP Cebu. The agreement establishes a partnership aimed at advancing opportunities in fashion technology, creative innovation, and interdisciplinary learning.

The MOA was signed by UP Cebu Chancellor Leo B. Malagar and Fabrice Jonas, Founder of MyFashionTech. The partnership represents a shared commitment to bridging education and industry by creating pathways for collaboration in the rapidly evolving field of fashion-tech, where design, communication, entrepreneurship, and emerging technologies intersect.

Through the partnership, CCAD and MyFashionTech will explore initiatives that promote fashion-tech education, industry-informed learning experiences, research engagement, and collaborative projects. The agreement also opens opportunities for participation in programs and initiatives that contribute to the development and visibility of the Philippine fashion technology ecosystem, equipping students with relevant skills and exposure to emerging trends in the creative industries.

Witnessing the signing were CCAD Dean Crina Tañongon, Design Program faculty member Instr. Kil Camalongay, and Design Program Coordinator Jay Nathan Jore. Their presence highlighted the college’s continuing efforts to cultivate strategic partnerships that enrich academic experiences and connect students with innovative professional networks.

As the creative industries increasingly embrace technological transformation, the partnership between CCAD and MyFashionTech underscores UP Cebu’s commitment to preparing future creatives for a dynamic and interdisciplinary landscape. By fostering collaboration between academia and industry, the agreement creates new opportunities for students and faculty to engage with emerging practices that shape the future of design, communication, and innovation.
