The Communication Program officially opened TAKLOB: A Glimpse Into the World of the Unnoticed Working Class, a photography exhibition by freshman BA Communication students, on May 19 at the Comm Wing of the Jose T. Joya Gallery.
Guided under the mentorship of Instructor JT Trinidad, the exhibition runs until May 29, 2026, and explores the theme “revealing what has long been unnoticed” through compelling visual narratives centered on the lives of everyday laborers.
Featuring 159 photographic works, TAKLOB documents the daily realities of members of the working class whose contributions often remain unseen despite playing vital roles in society.
The photographs capture moments of labor, resilience, and perseverance—telling stories of workers who continuously strive to make ends meet while sustaining communities and industries through their skills and dedication.
The exhibition reflects the students’ growing engagement with visual storytelling and social documentation, using photography as a medium to foreground the lived experiences of individuals frequently overlooked in everyday life.
TAKLOB is open to the public at the Jose T. Joya Gallery, Comm Wing, UP Cebu. Visitors are invited to experience the exhibition and reflect on the unseen labor that keeps society moving.
