UP Cebu’s Materials Innovation Center (MATIX) will hold a workshop on the fundamentals of wood joinery and fastening with technical consultant Rene Bretaña Jr. on October 2, 2026, at the Textile Innovation Studio.
Bretaña brings more than 20 years of experience in furniture engineering, design development, and manufacturing.
He has held technical roles with internationally recognized furniture manufacturers and has expertise in furniture engineering, design development, and manufacturing.
Participants will learn about common wood joinery methods and explore knock-down construction techniques for creating wooden furniture designed for easy self-assembly.
The workshop fee is ₱100, inclusive of materials, and is free for UP students.
