This exhibition marks the culmination of Aiken’s undergraduate research and studio practice. It explores the performative nature of gender through drag as an embodied artistic practice, using the body as a site to examine how gender is constructed, repeated, and disrupted. It further highlights how queer individuals shape the self through aesthetic labor, positioning drag as a transformative practice that builds community, expands queer possibilities, and asserts visibility in resistance to patriarchal power and political erasure.
